Located in São Paulo, Brazil, the Brisa Apartment renovation by Memola Estúdio epitomizes a harmonious blend of client collaboration and architectural ingenuity. Despite the geographical distance, the studio maintained close communication with the cosmopolitan couple residing in Buenos Aires, aligning their creative vision with the clients’ aspirations for their new home.

Fusing Cosmopolitan Living with Creative Principles

The project sought to reflect the clients’ cosmopolitan lifestyle, shaped by their experiences in various international cities, while integrating Memola Estúdio’s creative principles. Embracing the juxtaposition of old and new, rustic and industrial, the renovation aimed to breathe new life into the apartment while retaining its essence.

Spatial Reconfiguration and Integration

Central to the transformation was the reconfiguration of the apartment’s layout to enhance functionality and connectivity. By repurposing one of the bedrooms into a versatile office space integrated with the living room, and expanding the kitchen to foster a seamless interaction with the social area, the architects optimized the apartment’s spatial dynamics.

Structural Alterations and Visual Integration

Structural modifications, including wall demolitions and changes in wet areas, were concentrated in the apartment’s core, facilitating a cohesive spatial flow. Concrete surfaces and demarcated masonry remnants serve as visual reminders of the renovation process, celebrating the apartment’s architectural heritage.

Illumination and Visual Continuity

Strategic placement of glass frames and internal glazing promotes natural light penetration, creating a visually dynamic environment that seamlessly transitions between spaces. The kitchen island, crafted from stainless steel and adorned with bespoke tiles, serves as a focal point, balancing industrial aesthetics with functional elegance.

Youthful Ambiance and Material Harmony

Neutral materials are punctuated by the vibrant hues of specially curated tiles, infusing the space with youthful energy and visual interest. Carefully selected furniture pieces and lighting fixtures contribute to the overall ambiance, enhancing both comfort and aesthetic appeal.
