Rediscovering Tradition The Hanok Heritage House in Yeongwol

Embracing Cultural Legacy

In 2023, Listen Communication unveiled the Yeongwol Jongtaek, a splendid testament to traditional Korean architecture known as Hanok. Spanning an impressive 16,332 m² area and comprising 78 buildings, this heritage hotel celebrates the rich cultural heritage of South Korea. With meticulous attention to detail, the project incorporates 137 rooms, including independent suites and row houses, along with a range of amenities such as a cultural exhibition hall, outdoor banquet facilities, seminar rooms, spas, and exercise facilities.

Craftsmanship and Innovation

Central to the design ethos of Yeongwol Jongtaek is a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation. The project pioneers the use of cutting-edge wood drying technology to ensure the highest quality materials are employed throughout. European transparent insect screens adorn the structures, preserving the essence of Hanok architecture while embracing modern functionality. Innovative insulation materials enhance comfort, while a dedication to natural scents enriches the sensory experience, inviting guests into a realm of tranquility and authenticity.

Serene Sanctuaries

Each guest room within Yeongwol Jongtaek is meticulously designed to offer privacy and serenity. The subtle aroma of wood permeates the air, creating an ambiance unlike any other. The ground floor of each building features two guest rooms surrounding a central lounge, meticulously crafted with Korean-style wooden structures. Every aspect of the interior, from fabric and wood accents to state-of-the-art lighting systems, is designed to cocoon guests in warmth and comfort.

Fusion of Tradition and Modernity

The basement levels of Yeongwol Jongtaek offer a haven of relaxation and indulgence, with amenities including living areas, kitchens, saunas, studies, media rooms, and even a winery. Traditional materials such as Korean paper and craft techniques are seamlessly integrated with modern design elements, resulting in a rich and immersive aesthetic. External public spaces, including terrace gardens and infinity pools, invite guests to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of their surroundings.

Looking Ahead: Seondoljeong

As the Yeongwol Jongtaek sets a new standard for Hanok hospitality, the forthcoming Seondoljeong promises to elevate the experience even further. With a focus on outdoor leisure and cultural enrichment, this upcoming project will offer guests a diverse array of experiences, from alfresco banquets to immersive performances. As The Hanok Heritage House continues to evolve, it remains committed to providing visitors with authentic cultural experiences and unparalleled hospitality.
