Third Nature Studio’s groundbreaking office building in Copenhagen, Denmark, redefines sustainable architecture with its innovative design and eco-friendly construction. Positioned as the gateway to the Lynetteholm land reclamation project, this diamond-shaped structure serves a dual purpose, embodying functionality and environmental consciousness.

Architectural Vision

Situated on the northeastern edge of Copenhagen Harbor, the office building marks the entrance to the expansive Lynetteholm development and serves as the administrative hub for soil transportation to the emerging island. Designed for disassembly using durable materials, it embodies Third Nature Studio’s commitment to eco-friendly practices and adaptive architecture.

Design Features

Composed of 17 angled modules covering an area of 1000 m², the one-story edifice stands out amidst an industrial backdrop. With aluminum facades and expansive glass sections, the building exudes minimalism and luminosity while addressing challenges like wind, dust, and noise. Each module’s rotation creates terraces that offer sunlight and shade, fostering a dynamic internal space arrangement.

Sustainability and Adaptability

Flexibility and adaptability are integral to the building’s design, allowing for easy relocation as the Lynetteholm project progresses. Embracing ‘design for disassembly’ principles, Third Nature Studio prioritizes renewable, low carbon footprint materials, minimizing waste and ensuring long-term adaptability to evolving needs and contexts.
