The Tara: A Unique Office Building in Tambon Khlong Klua, Thailand

The Tara, designed by Plan Associates, is an innovative office building located in Tambon Khlong Klua, Thailand. Inspired by the concept of water, the building symbolizes the convergence of hearts, integration with nature, and the celebration of diversity. Crafted to reflect the essence of the original area, named TARA PARK, the building serves as a modern and beautiful addition to the landscape.

Architectural Design

The building’s design prioritizes open spaces and greenery, aiming to create a harmonious environment for occupants and the surrounding area. With its axis rotated 45 degrees from the external street orientation, The Tara stands out as a distinctive centerpiece, integrating seamlessly with the large-scale Plaza and the project area’s front space. The rectangular form, reminiscent of a pyramid, embodies simplicity and purity, reflecting the unadulterated element of water.

Building Facade

To symbolize serenity and energy efficiency, the building’s facade features highly efficient glass and aluminum sunshades. The twisting pattern of the sunshades mimics the free-flowing movement of water, creating an ever-changing visual experience as sunlight hits the facade from different angles. This design not only regulates heat intake but also adds a touch of abstract beauty to the building’s exterior.

Building Utilization Spaces

The basement serves as a central space for the Conference Center, featuring expansive staircases and skylights to introduce natural light. Natural stone walls contribute to a tranquil ambiance, complementing the surrounding areas. The upper floors accommodate various functions, including a reception hall, co-working space, office spaces, and a large meeting area. Each space is designed to foster collaboration, adaptability, and connectivity with the natural surroundings.

Integration with the Surrounding Environment

The building’s design integrates the surrounding environment into its narrative, with covered walkways inspired by waterways. Natural materials like exposed concrete are used to immerse passersby in the natural environment, creating fluid pathways that connect the building with nature.

Conclusion

The Tara represents a unique blend of modern architecture, sustainability, and integration with nature. As a symbol of the spirit of water, it embodies the values of unity, diversity, and harmony with the environment. With its innovative design and thoughtful integration with the surrounding landscape, The Tara stands as a testament to Plan Associates’ commitment to creating spaces that inspire and connect people with their surroundings.
