Embracing Nature The Design of Vento Vinte Lodge

Embracing Nature The Design of Vento Vinte Lodge

Introduction: Location and Context

Situated on Emboaca Beach in Trairí/Ce, Brazil, the Vento Vinte Lodge stands as a testament to harmonious architecture amidst lush natural surroundings. Architects Lins Arquitetos Associados carefully integrated the lodge into its coastal landscape, preserving existing features while seamlessly blending modern constructions.

Preserving the Coconut Grove: Architectural Approach

The architectural vision prioritized the preservation of the mature coconut grove, utilizing its landscape potential to the fullest. Circular or elliptical forms were chosen for the chalets and support buildings, embracing an organic concept that seamlessly integrates with the natural environment.

Functional Design for Comfort: Chalet Features

The chalets were strategically oriented for functional ventilation, allowing abundant regional winds to circulate through various openings. Each chalet features a Cariri stone-covered veranda, providing a serene space for relaxation and conversation. Additionally, rooftop access offers guests privileged views of the surroundings and the sea.

Sustainable Solutions: Materials and Construction

Sustainable materials such as marmeleiro wood and Cariri stone were used throughout the construction. The roofs and canopies, primarily made of marmeleiro with eucalyptus structures, not only economize space but also provide shade and play with light and shadow. The reception block stands out with a carnauba thatch roof, a distinctive local material known for its cooling properties.

Conclusion: A Harmony of Architecture and Nature

Vento Vinte Lodge exemplifies a harmonious blend of architecture and nature, where modern comforts coexist with ecological preservation. Through thoughtful design and sustainable practices, Lins Arquitetos Associados has created a tranquil retreat that celebrates the beauty of its coastal surroundings while offering guests a unique experience amidst the coconut grove.
